Living is becoming a bit of a costly business is it not? In fact, were it not for a few inconvenient laws and the odd moral issue, we at the BoF would consider buying a bolt gun and offering the public a practical, affordable alternative to living. Although knowing our luck, Microsoft will have beaten us to it. Instead we’ll have to go on struggling like everyone else, because it would seem that more and more people simply can’t afford to live their daily lives. Or can they?

There’s a lot of hate out there.  And most of it is heading towards you ladies, I’m afraid.  A survey from Marketing Magazine has provided some excellent marketing for Marketing Magazine and also revealed that the top five most loved celebrities are men, while four of the top five most hated are women.  Does this mean we are still a patriarchal society, spinning misogynistic narratives of objectified women?

Love and Marriage, love and marriage – they go together like a horse and carriage, apparently. And, like a horse and carriage, it would appear that love and marriage have become somewhat outdated. This week, Cardinal Murphy-O'Connor declared that in his view “the breakdown of marriage in my view is one of the greatest evils of our day”. And the man’s got a point. Alongside the poncho’s inexplicable return to popularity a couple of years ago, the breakdown in marriage has caused The BoF no end of concern. read more

The dirty nappy of shame has once again wrapped itself around the incontinent ass of British television.  Not content with swindling the mentally challenged out of their hard earned jobseekers allowance with unwinnable premium rate phone-in competitions, ITV has now stooped to a new low by fiddling the gold standard of broadcasting, the Comedy Awards.  “The People’s Choice Award” was handed over to Ant and Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway when, inexplicably, the people chose The Catherine Tate Show.  Were ITV merely exercising good taste?  Sadly not.  read more
